In the Reiner region, like in the Marius hills, low domes can be found as well as steep-sided features with rough surfaces and originated during several effusive phases. These domes are characterised by flank slope between 2.4° to 8° and diameters between 4.0 and 6.5 km. The steeper Reiner 2 (R2) belongs to subclass H3, and its flank slope  reaches value of up to 7°. The domes R1, R3 and R5 are part of the Procellarum group and belong to class C2, while the dome R4 with its smaller diameter, height and lower edifice volume is situated between classes C2 and E1.
